Expansion of the e-learning program provides interactive scenarios for software developers to expand their knowledge of common vulnerabilities
TORONTO — January 25, 2021 — Security Compass, developer of the industry’s first Balanced Development Automation (BDA) platform, today announced the launch of its hands-on Virtual Lab. Complementary to the company’s existing e-learning course offerings and training solutions, the new Security Compass training lab provides practical opportunities for developers to deepen their understanding of common vulnerabilities, and gain the skills necessary to build secure software.
Armed with knowledge about the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities from Security Compass’ e-learning courses, developers can use the interactive training lab to gain deeper insights on how these vulnerabilities impact and affect applications in development. The training lab includes multiple exploit scenarios, including a vulnerable banking application simulation, in which developers are guided through exercises covering secure software design, secure software coding, and other development processes that play a critical role in minimizing an organization’s cybersecurity risk.
“Professionals are increasingly seeking innovative ways to learn new skills, and test this knowledge in a safe environment,” said Lauren Park, Director of Training at Security Compass. “As a leader in cybersecurity training solutions, Security Compass equips developers with the knowledge to protect against the latest cybersecurity risks impacting their organization’s products. We are committed to providing new ways for developers to gain this knowledge, and are proud to launch our hands-on training lab as the latest resource for customers to improve their security posture.”
Security Compass customers can now add the training lab to existing subscriptions for either the Software Security Practitioner (SSP) Suites, a role-based e-learning program offered in partnership with the International Information System Security Certification Consortium ISC2, or the Full Library, with over 35 on-demand courses for required education or personal interest. Going forward, this will be included with the subscription.
The training lab is the latest example of Security Compass’ ongoing efforts to build a world where technology is trusted. Through these enhancements to its training solutions, Security Compass is helping organizations increase security knowledge among their developers to ensure they possess the skills required to face today’s growing threat landscape.
