Create and Modify Threats in the Content Library
When users are limited in modifying threats, it becomes challenging to address specific project requirements, emerging vulnerabilities, or industry-specific threats.
With 2025.1, users can modify existing threats and create custom ones in the SD Element content library through the API or the UI. Any new or modified threats will also be included in reports.
This flexibility helps teams address emerging threats, adapt to new system architectures, and ensure that security measures are aligned with evolving industry standards, ultimately improving the effectiveness and relevance of their security efforts.
Jira Integration Improvements
SD Elements users sometimes face challenges with tracking security progress due to limited visibility into which countermeasures failed to sync with Jira.
The SD Elements 2025.1 release improves Jira integration by adding details on countermeasures that failed to sync within the Skip & Log UX.
Additionally, extending comment synchronization with Jira when using RIA will be available in a maintenance release later this quarter, enhancing security tracking, communication, and overall workflow efficiency.
System-Wide Visibility & Compliance Reporting
SD Elements now includes System View, providing a holistic perspective by allowing users to group projects into a unified view for better visibility and management.
This enhancement helps security and engineering teams understand project relationships, assess security risks more effectively, and streamline reporting.
Additionally, users can now generate compliance reports for designated regulations via the UI and export them as needed, improving regulatory oversight and simplifying audit preparation—all within the SD Elements platform.
Expanded Content Library for Greater Security and Compliance
The latest SD Elements release brings significant additions to the content library, enabling users to identify weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures across a broader range of technologies. New content includes coverage for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Azure Compute CIS Benchmark, Low-Code/No-Code Application Development, Blockchain, Accessibility Requirements, and more—helping teams expand security best practices across their environment.
In this release, SD Elements provides a compliance report for MITRE ATLAS, ensuring customers that AI/ML applications are protected against a comprehensive taxonomy of threats.
In addition, SD Elements now includes compliance content for emerging standards and regulations such as ISO 27701 (for privacy), the India Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU Radio Equipment Directive, and the EU Data Act. These updates ensure that customers stay informed about evolving privacy laws and cybersecurity requirements, reducing compliance risks and helping maintain uninterrupted business operations. With this expanded coverage, security and development teams can more easily integrate security and compliance considerations into their workflows, strengthening overall software security.
